Description
Mint Compost, also known as mint hay compost, is the left over organic matter from local peppermint farmers. The farmers collect the foliage and extract the desired mint oils using a high temperature steam. As a result, the left over material has been cleaned and sterilized. After proper composting, this material offers plants a high amount of nitrogen as well as other macro nutrients. We leave the material unscreened in order to provide extra texture and porosity when mixed with soils. This material is great on its own and even better when mixed with our Shiitake Mushroom compost.
–Benefits–
Improves soil structure and porosity – creating a better plant root environment
Increases moisture infiltration and permeability, and reduces bulk density of heavy soils – improving moisture infiltration rates and reducing erosion and runoff
Enables soils to retain nutrients longer
Available Bulk by the yard, or in Super Sacks
